One SU team played a real game this weekend

The basketball team had its “Midnight Madness” scrimmage.
The football team crushed Bye Week 56-17. (Don’t believe me? I read it on Twitter: @NunesMagician) I can’t believe they didn’t block that field goal.
But the field hockey team had some real business to take care of.
First, the background. We have lagged a bit in the FH updates. [...]

It’s clobberin’ time!

So I pop over to My Yahoo to check my fantasy football team and behold the content that has arrived:

Halleluia and Hail Boeheim! The basketball schedule is complete! To quote a wise philosopher, “Let’s get it started in here.”
The full schedule can be found here. The highlights:

the latest in Jamesian meta-analysis

Pat Forde is a genius. I don’t think anyone can dispute the rock-solid scientific methodology he brings to bear in his new Final Four Likability Index.
Personally I would have suspected UNC to be even more unlikable than Forde calculates, but who am I to argue with math?

reading material

If you’re sick of thinking about Blake Griffin but still want to consume some college basketball and Syracuse press (because you can’t get the NCAAs out of your head), here’s some help.

Were you aware?

This isn’t deep research, it was even mentioned on the broadcast last night. But it was way early in the first half, and as I read all these game stories I have noticed that not a lot of folks are including this little nugget in their reporting:

Justin Thomas likes gum

I just can’t stop thinking and reading about last night’s game. I should be working. But I just can’t stop.

Just amazing

My god. That was fucking historical.

heart, guts, determination, willpower, desire, effort, and more heart

Despite the heading of this post, there are no words to describe what was on display tonight and this morning at Madison Square Garden. We saw a team grow up and learn to believe. Everything disappointing about this season has been repaired. Everything has been wiped clean. Everything is on the table from here on [...]

Bring It

Thanks for the warmup game, Seton Hall. It’s very much appreciated. Anything you can do to get our outside shooters in a groove like last night (I believe we were 5-6 on threes for that key stretch of the 2nd half) will be helpful as we prepare to face tonight’s shot-blocking, elbow-wielding monstrosity. (Though that [...]

Syracusan’s Big East coach of the year: Jay Wright

There are two ways to pick a coach of the year, and neither one is particularly helpful in the Big East this year. Either you pick the one coach who’s team was so overwhelmingly dominant that they clearly did the best job, regardless of whether everyone expected them to win; or you pick the coach [...]
