Was I the only one hoping that K-Ong would finish his final home game in the most appropriate way — by fouling out? After that double-technical, as a result of which he picked up his fourth, I figured it was only a matter of time. But JB sat him down with about five minutes left. Can’t complain, I guess, but still. It would have been the perfect monument to the all-out style of play that he has brought to the team these past two years — and can you imagine how much more pronounced the ovation would have been! (Speaking of which, facking ESPNU decided they’d rather re-run a montage of Paul Harris’ showboat dunks while the crowd was voicing its appreciation of Kristof. Idiots.) I guess we’ll all have to settle for this:

Clinching a winning conference record, and a first-round BET bye (thanks USF); outscoring the opponent by 31 in the second half; the People’s Choice (see above) scoring a season-high 10 points on a variety of moves; the senior walk-ons each draining a hoop (or two!) — heck, even Sean Williams contributed a blocked shot; the players tossing their shoes into the crowd (OK, that was just weird); Georgetown losing to St. John’s…. that was a pretty good Tuesday night. (I shall deliberately ignore the first half of the game.)
Bring on the Golden Beagles!
