Boooo

When Daryl Gross decided to retire #44, I wasn’t particularly in favor of it. I would much rather see it restored to glory with the renaissance of the football program (underway, slowly and painfully to be sure, but underway). I’d love for it to be available either as a recruiting tool or as a reward for a running back who has earned it (in the way that it was offered to Walter Reyes for his senior year, though he declined to wear it). But the Doctor’s word is law. So, nobody can wear #44, right?

OK, apparently he just wanted it for himself. Boooooooooo. Boo on you. Sir.

By the way, this came about from me looking at the various submissions for the TNIAAM contest that invited readers to insert Gross into famous moments from SU history. You owe it to yourself to check that out if you haven’t already. It’s amazingly amazing.
