Something I want everyone to notice is the play of Arinze Onuaku. Specifically, his hands. He has the ability to catch a pass and go up with the shot quickly and fluidly– which has been lacking in SU big men for years, not just Watkins and Roberts but back through Craig Forth, Etan Thomas, and Billy Celuck. I think you have to go all the way back to Otis Hill to find someone his size who was a reasonable receiver. Arinze took a pass in the first minute of the 2nd half tonight, on the dead run, and threw down a thunderous dunk. He converted numerous times around the rim off tight feeds from Harris and Flynn. He also completely neutralized St. Joseph’s first team all-A10 center, who had 3 points (he averaged 16.6 last year). I was highly concerned about our frontcourt this year but he’s making a quick believer out of me. And Rick Jackson don’t look so bad either.

Hey, how’d that 94-92 prediction work out for you?
How would I know that St. Joe’s would puss out and not play press defense all game?
And let me also say that if Paul Harris had missed that last foul shot like he was s’posed to, I would have been right about the final margin (at least).
